Rania Atalla
After 20 years in politics and communications spent between the USA and the Middle East, Atalla made a career change into the field of mental health, completing a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
Atalla also holds a BA in Political Science and an MA in International Affairs from Georgetown University. In Jordan, she served as Director of Communications for HM King Abdallah of Jordan and as Chief of Staff to HM Queen Rania (1999-2005). In Washington, DC, she served as Director of the Jordan Information Bureau in the 1990s.
In the field of mental health, she trained at Al-Rashid Hospital Centre for Psychiatry and Addictions and at a private clinic in Amman, where she worked with a diversity of patients and clients from the region and the world.
She currently works privately with clients to identify and address different conditions, including anxiety disorders as well as relationship and self-esteem issues. Atalla has made it part of her mission to raise awareness on mental health issues, and engages in public speaking with institutions and audiences such as the Crown Prince’s Foundation, New Think Theatre, ACORN group for food addiction, YWCA, and other educational institutions and non-governmental organizations.
